The Apostolic
Church of Jesus, Incorporated was founded on
December 23,
1939 in
the State of
Florida, County of Highlands, City of
Avon Park
under the Leadership of
the General Overseer, Elder H. Johnson, Elder J. Dye, Elder M.
Cummings and Deacon H. Hobbs.
We are a corporation of ministers
and churches who enjoy fellowship together in the bonds of
Christ. As
ministers we are fellow servants who have an affinity in Christ,
a special unity in purpose and warmth of relationship.
The Apostolic Church of Jesus, Inc.
believes in the
Holy Spirit and the authority of the scriptures as the Word of
God;
fundamental
truths taught in the Bible;
salvation made
possible only through Jesus; the baptism of the
Holy
Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues; water
baptism
by immersion; the pre-millennial second coming of
Jesus
Christ; the final judgment of the dead; and the establishment of
new heavens and a new earth.
The Apostolic Church of Jesus, Inc.
in
1995
had about 1500 members in 35 congregations in North America and
the Grand Bahamas. The chief officer in the church is the
Presiding Bishop elected to a four year term, which office
is held by Presiding Bishop
Gregory
A. Johnson for the church headquartered in Altamonte Springs,
Florida.
The Apostolic Church of Jesus, Inc.
conducts a
General Assembly annually in the month of May, a General Sunday
School Convention in the month of July, a National Women
Conference in the month of October and a National Deacon and
